Swim team families: please remember to have your meet planner survey complete by the end of the week.
We really need the meet planners to be in on time in order to make sure that we have the most competitive lineups in for each and every meet! Thanks for your help!
The first few pool weekends are behind us and we have had a great start to the season! We have a bit of information to pass along:
Anyone with cool pictures from the pool that they'd like to see posted on the website, please respond to this email. We'd really like to start a SPRA photo gallery.
The first of the Sunday Night Dinners is rapidly approaching. It will be held June 28thby guest chefs The Podwika family. The menu is as follows: 8oz. Filet, Mushrooms and Onions, Salad, Baked Potato, Cheesecake with strawberries. Cost is $12 per person. Kids meals will be hot dogs, hamburgers, fruit cup, chips and cupcake. The sign up sheets will be put up on June 17th so sign up early this is always a popular meal!
Remember that we have reliable, FREE WIFI at the pool this summer. Just bring your laptop, cell phone or other device, join the SPRA network and follow the directions in your web browser. It's that easy!
The first of this season's two lend-a-hand days was a huge success! More than 30 member families turned out for the pre-season work day. On the gardening front, mulch was spread around all of the garden beds out front, several small trees were planted and lots of weeding was taken care of. Special thanks to everyone who brought a wheel barrow!
Thanks to the hard work of our pools and grounds team, the pool is now completely empty and the spring cleaning process is well under way. The pool contractor will be in this week to complete some minor tile work and acid wash the pool walls, both of which are routine, yearly maintenance tasks. We should have the pool re-filled in the next week or so!
Further prep was done to the pool itself: volunteers re-attached both diving boards, power washed the pool walls and shoveled out some rotten leaves and pond scum from the bottom. We can't wait for that first flip from the meter board! The baby pool will be getting a new pump this year and some further aesthetic work will be done to the brick retaining wall surrounding that area. All of the gutter covers around the main pool were removed and cleaned, allowing access to the stainless steel gutter underneath which was also completely scrubbed down by the hard-working volunteers.
All-in-all we had a great start to the season with the first of two lend-a-hand days. If you couldn't make it out last weekend, don't worry! The second lend-a-hand day is this coming Saturday, May 9th, beginning again at 9am. We'll see you there!
Just a friendly reminder that the annual SPRA Lend-A-Hand days are coming up quickly! May 2nd and May 9th are the scheduled dates, with a rain date on the 16th. We'd love to see someone from your family attend at least one of the Lend-A-Hand days!
We're kicking off the 2009 season with the official launch of our new website and we can't wait to get everyone registered! For new users, first things first, Log In using the 'Log In' link the top right-hand corner of the screen. If you haven't registered yet, follow the link for new users at the bottom of the Log In screen; you'll be all set in 3 easy steps! After logging in, you can update your account information under the 'My SPRA' link in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
When the season finally starts, you'll be able to see all of the times you visited the pool, which members of your family were present and if you brought any guests. All of this information will be available under the 'My SPRA' link, so check back often to see what's new.
We'll be posting pictures in the photo gallery of events at the pool this summer, including everyone's favorite, the sunday night dinners! Pictures will also be taken at the lend-a-hand days (mark your calendars now!). We're anticipating a huge turnout for the lend-a-hand days this year, so make sure to bring your work gloves and tell your freinds. There's plenty of work to be done and plenty more fun to be had!
Here's to a great summer 2009!
2009 annual dues for all members are due by May 18th. Any payments made by May 1 will be subject to a $50 discount.
All payments are subject to a 5-day processing period during which your family will not be able to use the pool. This allows time for the payment to clear and the computer to be updated with current member information in order to minimize the time spent checking members in at the front desk. This earlier payment schedule should not only help things run smoother at the front desk but also allow us to continue to use volunteers rather than pay someone to handle membership duties, which would increase the cost of yearly dues. We thank you in advance for your cooperation with these adjustments.
All SPRA members must pay their dues and any outstanding fees before they may use the pool.
Welcome to SPRA's new website! We'll be keeping this information up-to-date over the summer, with pool weather and closing info, members-only features and in-depth information about our facility.
